The series between the Mavs and Minnesota was not so unpredictable, owning to the consecutive wins of the Mavericks in games 1, 2, and 3. The Minnesota team was able to defeat the Mavs in the game 4. However, the Dallas Mavericks were able to take the lead and register their victory in game 5.

Luca Doncic was definitely in his form, hitting shot after shot, and hushing the crowd with a sly grin on his face while the Dallas Mavericks delivered a spectacular show. Doncic made 20 points in the first quarter and scored his highest point total of the postseason with 36 points on Thursday night. Doncic, who averaged 32.4 points per game in the series and after grabbing 10 rebounds and scoring 36 points with 5 assists and 2 steals in Game 5, Dončić was an obvious choice to win MVP of the Western Conference Finals. 

With Kyrie Irving’s 36 points, 4 rebounds, and 5 assists, he catapulted to star player of the match. But what was more appreciating was Dereck Lively II, who was absent in Game 4 due to a neck injury, made a comeback with 9 points,8 rebounds, and 3 steals in just 24 minutes off the bench. 

Paul Washington pulled off 12 points with 7 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals. The Mavs dominated the Timberwolves by 36 points in the third quarter and continuously disrupted their offensive flow.

Minnesota Timberwolves lost in the homeland

Timberwolves Minnesota defense strategy was highly packed and appreciated, but at last, the Dallas Mavericks outplayed them. The Mavericks, with Doncic and Irving leading the way, head toward the finals after a massive victory with a 124-103. Despite both Anthony Edwards and  Karl Anthony Towns scoring 28 points, the Timberwolves lost the match in their homeland.

While Rudy Gobert finished off with 9 points, 5 rebounds,1 assist, and 1 steal, Jaden McDaniels scored 8 points and 1 rebound. 

Even with their newfound progress this season, the Wolves were reminded that, despite explosive abilities and a clutch mindset, they still lacked a championship offensive unit.

Summary 

After the win of the Wolves in Game 4, there was a hope of a win in Game 5 too. The Dallas Mavericks vs Timberwolves Match Player Stats and box score screams loudly the defeat of the the Timberwolves. Despite playing their best, they could not defeat the Mavericks.
